Welcome to the Motorhome Diaries

We managed to take early retirement about five years ago and since then we have fully enjoyed with the aid of our motorhome and a map of europe. While buying a place in the sun was quite attractive we did not want to commit to returning to the same place every holiday so we decided to take the motorhome route and with the property crash we think we made the right decision.
We try to spend about half the year away from home and have enjoyed some wonderful trips around europe and beyond and met lots of interesting people and visited lots of interesting places both on and off the beaten track. We hope to continue to do so for a while longer yet as there is still plenty of europe still to see. Sheila & Gilroy |

As well as the "Where Are They Now" page (which appears when we are on the road) we have created a page for each of the countries we have visited, see the column to the left. Each page has chapters relating to particular places visited although we are in the process of upgrading the site so that in some cases there are subpages to aid navigation. We have gone for an overview rather than a detailed diary containing the duller details of daily life. For general tourist detail there is always Rough Guide or Lonely Planet books. Up to date details on campsites can be obtained from the many many books available. Our aim is to visit as many countries in the European Union as we can. We still have a long way to go.

The purpose of this diary is remind us of our trips, download photos ( click the button below for additional photos) and generally to act as a resource that friends and family can access to find out where we are and what we are doing. We also hope that it will act as a reminder that you do not have to spend a fortune and travel long distances to see some lovely sights. Our hobbies are birdwatching and wandering around old towns and buildings - the following pages reflect this.
