Vintgar Gorge
We spent our third day in Bled visiting Vintgar Gorge which is in the Triglav National Park. This has a 1600m boardwalk and makes a pleasant walk with fabulous views of clear blue water, waterfalls, torrents and spectacular scenery. As was to be expected in such a spot there were lots of dippers, a few grey wagtails, the odd spotted flycatcher and the occasional glimpse of a large raptor. There were plenty of trout too.
Our campsite is very nice, it is run by the people who ran the site in Dubrovnik and both campsites are unusual in that there are older and younger campers. In Dubrovnik there were the backpackers, doing Europe either by public transport or bicycle and in Bled the younger campers are the thrill seekers who go canyoning and kayaking.
