We visited Soomaa National Park as we like birdwatching and nature walks generally. What was especially good is that we could park up at the visitor centre and have electricity and water. No flushing loos but there were long drops. Also - it was free.
The visitor centre has walking guides and we found the staff very helpful.

This is a great place for cycling, walking trails and boardwalks across the bogs for which Estonia should be famous as there are lots of them.
We didn't see bears, wolves or lynx which are reported to be in the area but we did, at last, see some elk. We also saw lots of beaver lodges but no beavers.Unfortunately the elk were too far away to take a decent photo.
As we toured the park we noted that there were wooden cabins for overnight camping and these came with their own toilet (long drop again) fire pit and a stack of logs next to the fire pit. There was also an ingenious log splitter, see photos below which show a fixed metal axe and a hand carved wooden mallet to give your log a bashing. Sheila demonstrates in the photo below. This would be a lovely stopping off point for those travellers walking or cycling and camping en route.
