Olomouc
We visited Olomouc – a very elegant town hall with an astronomical clock where the old mythical characters who clanged the bells had been changed to socialist-realist worker-hero types, and a wonderfully over-the-top monument – on our way to Camping Hranice. The last bit of the trip involved a bit of a sweat because we had to go under a railway bridge advertised at 3.1m and we are 3.14m. We just squeezed through, though Sheila got covered in mud while doing scout duty. Camping Hranice was mainly chalets (accommodating the obligatory teenage school trip kids) and looked fairly run down but the facilities were fine, there was a bar, the reception lady was very helpful and it was cheap (Kr265 all in).
