Guadix
Autumn 2009 and on the way to Granada we took a quick detour to Guadix (Sheila had spotted it in the Andalucia guide) which is famous for cave houses. A very odd – but attractive – place though we just missed the museum: due to the holiday it closed at 2pm, and we arrived at five past two. On the way out of Guadix our attention strayed and we did not spot that Mrs TomTom had taken us on a short-cut. As a punishment for our inattention the road narrowed, the corners tightened and when we met a parked car we could not get past. Fortunately a blast on the horn brought out a not-very-pleased driver who shifted his car just enough for us (with mirror retracted) to pass.
