Chateaux
Along the Voie Verte we had some lovely views of chateaux as well as the pretty towns. Just south of the Tunnel du Bois Clair is Berze le Chatel which is perched on the top of a cliff and made the hard slog up to the tunnel worth while - well almost. We did not get to visit this chateau, we were not sure if it was open to the public but it would also have meant another uphill slog.
However we did get to the chateau at Cormatin which was a stunning building and worthy of any chocolate box lid. We took a tour of the house and as is so often the case our guide could speak German Spanish and English with ease and would switch from one to the other as the tour went on.
